SAFETY WARNING & DISCLAIMER

Safety Warning

Ride Hub is designed to provide educational content and guidance for mountain bike riders. The information and courses offered are not a substitute for professional coaching, in-person training, or common sense. By using this application, you acknowledge and agree to the following safety warnings.

General Safety and Risk Acknowledgment

·    Mountain biking is an inherently dangerous sport with a high risk of serious injury, paralysis, or death. The trails and environments where you ride are unpredictable and can change without warning. The information provided in this application is for educational purposes only and is not a guarantee of safety.

·   You are responsible for your own safety. Always ride within your limits and skill level. Do not attempt a skill or trail that you are not comfortable with, regardless of what is demonstrated in a course.

·    Know your equipment. Ensure your bike is in good working order before every ride. Check your brakes, tyres, suspension, and all bolts. If you are unsure, have your bike serviced by a professional bike mechanic.

·     Wear appropriate safety gear. At a minimum, always wear a properly fitting helmet. Consider additional protection like knee pads, elbow pads, gloves, and a full-face helmet for more aggressive riding.

·     Scout your lines. Before attempting a new feature or section of trail, get off your bike and walk it. Look for obstacles, assess the difficulty, and plan your route.

·      Ride with a friend. It is highly recommended to ride with at least one other person. This ensures that someone can assist you or call for help in case of an emergency.

·     Be aware of your surroundings. Pay attention to other riders, hikers, wildlife, and changing weather conditions.

Medical and Physical Readiness

·     Consult a professional. Before starting any new physical activity or training program, consult with a medical professional to ensure you are physically fit enough to participate.

·     Listen to your body. Do not push through pain. Pain is a sign that something is wrong. Stop, rest, and seek medical attention if necessary.

Emergency Procedures

·    Carry a communication device. Always have a charged mobile phone with you. Be aware that reception can be poor in remote areas.

·     Know your location. Use a GPS application or map to know your exact location. This is crucial for emergency services to find you.

·    Have an emergency plan. Before you start your ride, tell someone where you are going and when you expect to return.

·    In case of an emergency, call 000 in Australia. Be prepared to provide your location and a clear description of the situation.

Australia-Specific Warnings

·   Weather: Australian weather can be extreme and change rapidly. Be prepared for heat, sun, rain, and storms. Carry enough water and sun protection.

·   Wildlife: Be aware of native wildlife, including snakes, spiders, and kangaroos. Do not approach or provoke any animals.

·   Trail Conditions: Trails can be loose, dusty, or rocky, and conditions can change significantly after rain. Always ride cautiously within your limits.

·   Trail Access: Always respect local regulations and ride only on designated mountain bike trails. Never trespass on private property.
